Come into my parlour said the spider...

Dad

My dad is on the left.
yup that's my Dad in the middle.

hey that's my Dad in the dodgy cap on the right!

In his younger days before he retired my dad was Bosun on deep sea sidewinder fishing trawlers, although he did many a trip on Freezers. ( deep sea trawlers that processed the catch while away, thus allowing them to fish for longer periods.)

Okay why am I talking about all this on a gardening blog?

Well its been a while since I have posted, as my Dad passed away on 12Th September, and I haven't really been in the right frame of mind as you can probably imagine.

He was 83years had been ill for a while but it still came as a shock, and it's getting used to the reality of me not having my Dad any more. I feel like a part of me has been ripped away, we were like peas in a pod. Same humour, same outlook on life and always ready for a cuddle from those we love. No matter how old he was he never lost that spark, that cheeky spirit it was like he was still a young man inside.

I need to say at this point, I am so proud of my Mum and how much i love her too, she has shown so much strength though inside i know she feels lonely and vulnerable, they were together 63 years, I can only try to imagine what she is going through and I don't suppose that is even close.

I gave my Mum some vegetables from the garden today and I remembered how proud my Dad was of my achievements however small and i felt warm inside.

I want to say how privileged I am that he was my Dad and I loved him so very much.
